Brandon Odom: Bio
Last updated September 18, 2009
Brandon Odom was just 11 years old when he began racing go karts.
It would take him only a handful of starts before earning his first win, and everyone knew that Brandon was on his way to a long and successful racing career.
2003 saw Brandon go on to win many more races, and he capped off his impressive year by winning two championships.
Brandon competed at numerous karting tracks across the US, and racked up 50 pole awards, over 100 wins, four track records, and ten championships.
By 2007, it was time to move into full-sized, full-bodied race cars.
Brandon, at the age of 14, became the youngest driver ever to compete in the Pro Late Model ranks at both Five Flags (FL) Speedway and South Alabama Speedway.
He earned a sixth place finish in the championship standings at South Alabama Speedway that year and seventh at Five Flags Speedway, after missing two races at the latter. Brandon also picked up multiple top five and top ten finishes in his successful PLM debut year.
2008 would prove to be another improved season for Odom, who picked up his first Late Model win at Five Flags Speedway. He went on to finish second in the standings at both of the aforementioned venues.
To date, 2009 has been even better for Brandon and the Brandon Odom Racing team. He has three wins to date, and has finished second in the highly competitive Viper Series championship at South Alabama Speedway.
Brandon is a very hands-on driver. He takes an active role in preparing and repairing the Brandon Odom Racing and Royce Johnston Motor Sports Chevrolets that he drives - both at the speedway and at the race shop. Brandon knows what needs to be done to make his car faster, and he does it.
When he’s not racing, he’s also a vital component of the pit crew for fellow competitor and friend Bubba Pollard - who he finished second to in the 2009 Viper Series.
2010 is looking bright for Brandon. Current plans are to shift more into the faster Super Late Model events, including the prestigious Sunoco Gulf Coast Championship.
Brandon hopes to meet each and every one of his fans at the track. He is always anxious to speak with fans and sign autographs, and invites you to check his schedule page and come out to a track to meet him.
