DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, FL -- Young Brandon Odom has been no slouch this year, posting three Pro Late Model wins.
However, Brandon is not slowing down now. He’ll go for the checkered flag twice this weekend. First up is the Tom Thumb Pro Late Model Series on Friday, September 11, at Five Flags (FL) Speedway. Then the Brandon Odom Racing team heads to South Alabama Speedway on Saturday, September 12, for the Viper Series Cottonmouth 100.
Brandon’s three 2009 season wins came in the Tom Thumb Series at FFS, and he has offered outstanding performances in other races there before his racing luck went south.
Victory has eluded Brandon at South Alabama Speedway, but he has been a consistent strong performer there as well. He missed victory by 0.282 seconds the last time out at SAS, and he’ll arrive at the 4/10 mile speedway this weekend with hopes of finally visiting victory lane.
Saturday’s Cottonmouth 100 is the final point-paying event for the 2009 Viper Series. While the Viper Series championship has been mathematically locked in by a fellow competitor, Brandon must finish 9th or better to guarantee he’ll maintain the 2nd spot, which he currently holds.
Fans are encouraged to come out to both venues this weekend to meet and support Brandon, and his gratitude for the support he has received thus far is extended to them.
